Fisherman’s Rib Stitch
This is the fisherman’s rib stitch because of the way it is worked still giving that stretchy loftiness found in all brioche stitching.
Also, it takes 5+ rows for the pattern to really show so be patient.
I also recommend using a stretchy cast on and bind off method to allow for maximum stretching this allows.
Materials: worsted weight
Needles: Size 6
Gauge: 26 sts= 8″ 34 rows=8″
CO 26 sts
Foundation Row (WS): Knit across.
Row 1 (RS): K1, *knit the next st in the row below, k1; repeat from the * across, ending with knit the next st in the row below.
Row 2: As Row 1
Repeat Rows 1 and 2 for the pattern 34 rows = 8″
